In preparation for the highly anticipated First Time Storytelling Virtual Summit, we are kicking things off with a 30 Day Facial Expressions Challenge.
The First Time Storytelling Virtual Summit brings together an international lineup of experts and speakers to teach you how to become a personal storyteller and why storytelling matters. Storytelling is the most compelling, engaging, memorable and effective way for you to communicate who you are with others, and make deeper connections with the people you know and meet.

Storytelling is about expressing yourself and who you are. Part of expressing yourself is nonverbal communication. This is why it’s important to have good nonverbal communication skills as a storyteller but also be equipped to read and understand the nonverbal communication of others.
Both of which you get to learn about in the First Time Storytelling Virtual Summit.
Why wait!!
Join the 30 Day Facial Expression Challenge and start learning and practicing.
How to Participate in the 30 Day Facial Expressions Challenge
It’s easy and fun to participate! In the next 30 days, each day, post a new picture of yourself doing one of the 21 Recognized Facial Expressions or a silly face. The aim is to ensure you do all 21 Recognized Facial Expressions.
Add in the description which one of the 21 Recognized Facial Expressions or silly face you are making. Also, you can add how making that expression made you feel. Did making the expression make you feel the same as the expression? Was it hard or easy for you to make the facial expression? How long did it take you to get it right?
DO NOT add which facial expression you are making on the picture itself. Why? See the next part of the challenge.
Choose the social media platform of your choice and use the #facialexpressionchallenge hashtag.
Part II. Can you Read Facial Expressions?

The next part of the challenge is to test yourself. Can you read and discern the facial expressions. Do a search for the #facialexpressionchallenge hashtag and WITHOUT looking at the description, can you identify other people’s facial expressions?
Be nice about any comments you leave on the posts of other people.
Select from the Following 21 Recognized Facial Expressions and 9 Silly Faces
You do not have to do them in order. In fact, it’s better that you don’t, in order to challenge those who are practicing reading facial expressions.
